About Us

Our story starts with a dream

Mr. Jackson James Maodzwa's vision and leadership were essential to the founding of Maodzwa Primary School. He inspired and mobilized the village community to participate in the construction of the school and to support its mission of providing quality education to all children. Together, Mrs. and Mr. Maodzwa made a significant and lasting impact on the lives of countless children and their families. Their legacy of education and opportunity continues to benefit generations of students at Maodzwa Primary School and beyond.
Mrs. Norah Maodzwa was a passionate and dedicated early childhood educator, teaching from 1960 until her retirement in 1997. Her passion for education extended beyond her nuclear family to include extended family, as well as urban and rural communities. Many of her students testify about how she touched and transformed their lives, laying a firm foundation for their success through her caring approach to teaching. The youth of the Salvation Army church where she taught as a Corps Cadet Guide (CCG) at Dzivarasekwa Corps give similar testimonials. Her love for education in its broadest sense spurred her family to pass on the baton for the greater good of humanity, just as she selflessly did. Her teaching and guidance are the cornerstone of the educational legacy that she and her late husband, Jackson James Maodzwa, worked tirelessly to bestow on future generations.
